Nutrition, Healthy Diet and Vitamins
I have worked with vitamins and nutritional supplements for over 10 years. It is my experience both personally and with patients that using the right supplements and following healthy diet principles can have a significant and often life changing impact on our health
Many of us do not eat a healthy diet and this can impact our health. If we are stressed and busy we eat ‘on the run’ we grab what we can or maybe we don’t eat at all. For many reasons we make poor food choices and that leaves us missing key nutrients that our bodies need to function well. This is why I believe it is important to use vitamins in conjunction with a healthy diet it is easy to get confused about what is healthy and what is not; the headlines change every day. I can give you simple guidelines to help you eat a balanced diet.
There are many ‘health trends’ one of the current ones is Gluten Free. A number of people are doing ‘Gluten Free’ because it is fashionable right now. For some people, changes like going Gluten Free can make a significant difference.
For example, I went Gluten Free in October 2014 and I haven't looked back. I feel so much better and I have more energy and no more tummy problems. If that wasn't enough, as a bonus, I have lost two and a half stone too! I made the decision to go Gluten Free not as a fad but as the result of an intolerance test which revealed that Gluten, Chocolate and Sugar were major challenges to my health.
Sadly, our bodies often crave the things they are intolerant to. I craved chocolate and sweet things every day. The sugar free aspect of my dietary changes was the biggest challenge my cravings controlled my day, I loved my sweet treats and if that included chocolate, all the better! I needed help to reduce my sweet intake I knew will power alone was not going to be enough. I used a product called Blood Glucose Support. This product partners Chromium and Cinnamon plus some other key ingredients. It was amazing; I went from being controlled by my cravings and blood sugar levels to someone who hasn’t eaten chocolate in two years! A good result for someone who didn't go a day without eating chocolate!
For me, this personal example demonstrates the effectiveness of the right diet for you supported by the right supplements.
You may feel that a good diet is sufficient but sadly, the food available to us does not have all the nutrients we need. It is commonly accepted that there is a Nutrition Gap; this is defined as the difference between what we intake from our diet and what we need for optimal health. Fortunately, using the right supplements will help you overcome the Nutrition Gap and maintain good health.
It is important to note that not all vitamins are equal and just because it says vitamin or supplement on the label does not mean it will be fully effective for you.
